Signs of Pregnancy

Pregnancy can be the most interesting and important event in a woman’s life. It is a very difficult time in life and a step- wise procedure must be followed to keep both the mother and the baby safe. In the beginning one can confirm the pregnancy through a set of commonly observed signs and symptoms. Many of the pregnancy signs and symptoms may or may not vary from individual to individual. The symptoms vary as possible probable or as a positive test for pregnancy.

A missed period may be a possible reason, but missing a period can be due to other factors too. Sometimes women may have a feeling that they are pregnant. These are psychological and cannot be termed as a sign or symptom. The most common and possible sign may be nausea combined with vomiting. Soreness and enlargement of the breasts can also be included as a possible indication of a pregnancy. One might also feel the urge to urinate frequently, but unlike UTI, there will not be any burning sensation.

Women can also start getting strange cravings, like wanting to have an ice cream in the middle of the night. They tend to get tired soon. There also possible changes in the feel of the skin or sudden stretch marks that arise on the abdomen.

In the later stages of unidentified pregnancy one might also notice movement of the baby, or even colostrums secretion from the breasts. An enlarged abdomen may be a probable symptom. To confirm a positive test, one can use the pregnancy kit . This can be done at home. For further confirmation, one will have to go in for an ultrasound and x ray detection test. Ultrasound is used more often, as some people feel that x ray can be harmful to the baby; though it is not so.
